After a grand opening the festival is now in full swing. Young Brazilian and Norwegian dancers staged a spectacular cultural show surrounded by colours, lights and sound, performing acrobatic dance, afrobreak and capoeira, a Brazilian art form combining elements of martial arts, sports and music. Afterwards you could see paragliders, skydivers and hang gliders perform stunts in the air, while bikers and acrobats entertained on the ground.

There will be competitions in kayaking, rafting, off-road bicycling, kiting, skydiving, paragliding, hang gliding, multisport, freeride, climbing, BASE jumping, street skating on longboards and “big air”, where competitors perform jumps on different vehicles after launching off large ramps. For an entire week Norwegian and international athletes compete and challenge themselves in the elements. However, competitions are not always the main focus for the athletes. When hundreds of top athletes are gathered, the sharing of knowledge is just as important.
For beginners, the program “Try It” aims to introduce ordinary people like me and you to the different extreme sports at Ekstremsporveko. Professional instructors will challenge you in a safe environment. Maybe you'll discover that you're more extreme than you thought you were!

Whereas sports are the main focus of Ekstremsportveko, the music program has become an important part of the total festival experience. The last three days of the event, artists from around the world will spice up the festival with their vibrant music within the genres pop, rock, funk and reggae!
Ekstremsportveko is a non-profit event and every year 300-400 volunteers from all over the world contribute to make the festival a huge success.
