Six Norwehian youths are coming to Singapore where the world’s first Youth Olympic Games will be staged 14th -26th August 2010.

Norwegian Minister of Finance Sigbjørn Johnsen and Norges Bank Governor Svein Gjedrem visited Singapore to mark the opening of a new office for Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM).

The constitution day, 17th May, was celebrated by Norwegians around the world and Singapore was no exception. Over 700 Norwegians and invited guests gathered in Fort Canning Park for a traditional Norwegian celebration of the day.

The grand final of the Singapore Young Chef Games 2009 by Norwegian Seafood Export Council came to a successful end on Saturday, 3 October at the Temasek Culinary Academy. The event provided a platform for young aspiring chefs in Singapore to showcase their budding talent and skill using Norwegian salmon.

The Norwegian ceramist, Irene Nordli, spent an afternoon conducting a workshop for students from the La Salle College of the Arts on Thursday 17th September. The students were given the chance to create their own figures in clay and were shown various techniques by Irene Nordli.

The Norwegian Seafood Dinner 2009 was a great success! The spectacular buffet featured over 100 hot and cold seafood dishes beautifully displayed amongst magnificent ice sculptures. The star attraction this year was Chef Geir Skeie who recently won the prestigious gold trophy at Bocuse d’Or – the unofficial world championship for chefs.

BI Norwegian School of Management is launching a new Executive MBA in Shipping, Offshore and Finance. Former President of both the International Institute for Management in Switzerland and BI Norwegian School of Management, professor Peter Lorange – who currently holds a post as professor II at BI – will be responsible for parts of the programme’s academic content.
