The Norwegian ceramist, Irene Nordli, spent an afternoon conducting a workshop for students from the La Salle College of the Arts on Thursday 17th September. The students were given the chance to create their own figures in clay and were shown various techniques by Irene Nordli.
Divided into groups, the students quickly got to work shaping their lumps of clay. Some had worked with clay before while it was a new experience for others. For all it was the chance to learn from Irene's experience. Irene Nordli has been a ceramist for the past 15 years and had a lot of advice to pass on to the students. For Irene it was the opportunity to hopefully inspire others to take up the art form.
The workshop was part of the program created around the Norwegian Contemporary Ceramics and Arts Exhibition. The exhibition can be seen between the 15th September and 7th October at the La Salle College of the Arts, ICA Gallery 2. The exhibition is open to the public every day except Mondays between 10 am and 6 pm.
