Singapore HeritageFest 2010

Last updated: 12/08/2010 // Singapore Heritagefest 2010 was opened on 11 August 2010 by Acting Minister for Information Mr Lui Tuck Yew.

This year’s festival chose tagline, “What brings us together?”, to showcase the multicultural heritage that is unique to Singapore. At the center of all the festivities is the main festival hub at Suntec City Tropics Atrium.

The theme for the hub exhibition, the festival’s centerpiece is “World Cultures Through Traditional Costumes” where the exhibition will bring together the various dazzling costumes of countries all over the world. By unveiling the rich history and culture of nations revealed through these traditional costumes, this exhibition hopes to highlight the commonalities of nations and civilizations, and that as citizens of the world, we are actually one big family sharing many common heritage and values.

The Heritagefest 2010 showcases 70 costumes from around the world including two Norwegian national costumes (Bunad). Do visit the exhibition, which ends on 22 August, at Suntec City’s Tropic Atrium.
