On 30 January people were welcomed to TimeTravel, a 72 hours long networked installation-performance between Norway and Singapore, at the Innovation Centre at Nanyang Technological University. Spectators could observe a display where musicians in both Singapore and Tromsø were communicating through their own sounds and video imagery. On 2 February the exhibition ended with a networked performance by artists based in both cities. In atmospheric surroundings, the percussionists from Tromsø and Singapore communicated in a 40 minute long event.
Mr. Per Magnus Lindborg, assistant professor at NTU, and one of the initiators of the project, said he was pleased with the quality of the individual performances. TimeTravel is a collaborative, three-year research project between Norwegian and Singaporean organizations. Thus, the story of TimeTravel is just about to start. Stay tuned for future performances at timetravel.tunein.wordpress.com.
